Mayo College Announces New Leadership
Mayo College, a renowned educational institution, has embarked on a new journey with Mr. Saurav Sinha taking over as Principal on February 1st, 2024. The formal handover ceremony saw Gen SH Kulkarni, the outgoing Director, passing the baton to Mr. Sinha, heralding a new era for the school.
Mr. Sinha, a seasoned educator with a dynamic background, is set to bring a wealth of experience to Mayo College. His diverse skill set has been shaped by working across various industries, cultures, and countries. His educational journey commenced at Welham Boys School, followed by a graduation from Hindu College, Delhi University, in 1994. Mr. Sinha then embarked on the MA program in Mass Communication at Jamia Milia Islamia, before venturing into the professional world.
Mr. Sinha’s career trajectory took him through the evolving media landscape of India in the late 90s. After gaining valuable on-ground experience, he pursued an MBA at the prestigious London Business School. His professional journey spans banking, healthcare, and digital marketing in London, Europe, and Singapore, including a significant role in establishing the digital business for the Walt Disney Company in India and being a founding member of Epic channel, focusing on programming and content development.
At the age of 40, Mr. Sinha fulfilled his promise to himself by shifting his focus to education, particularly boarding schools. His last decade has been dedicated to teaching English and Economics/Business across CBSE, IB, and IGCSE boards. He has held significant leadership positions at Welham Boys’, Pathways World School Gurgaon, and as Director of Pastoral Affairs and Boarding at Harrow International School Bengaluru, where he was instrumental in setting up foundational policies and protocols.
The Mayo College fraternity warmly welcomed Mr. Sinha, anticipating a tenure filled with success and satisfaction. His passion for boarding school education and his vision for aligning these institutions with modern educational demands while preserving their heritage are set to enrich Mayo College’s legacy.
