Like most cities across the country, Chandigarh too is experiencing increasing cut-offs for admissions at the Senior Secondary level. Well, the cut-offs have hit the ceiling with a CGPA 10 requirement in the general category for the third time in a row for the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Mani Majra Modern Complex (MMC). Maintaining its record from the past years the school registered a perfect 10 in science stream this year too.
Notably, in 2014, too, the school had recorded the city’s highest cut-off of CGPA 9.8 in the general category for the science stream. However, this year the MMC School is sharing this distinction with another school, the GMSSS-16 which has also recorded a cut-off of CGPA 10 in science stream. It is only the first time that there has been a tie between 2 schools for the top slot and it may not be the last time that it has happened.
Science stream
The Chandigarh Education Department’s final merit list, released on Friday revealed that the second and the third spots have been bagged by GMSSS-35 and GMSSS-19 with CGPA 9.4 and 9.2, respectively, in the general category.
