With nationwide lockdown in effect, children need a proper dose of entertainment to stay cheerful and not feel stressed. Here is a list of some Indian kid-friendly TV shows and web series presented during the lockdown.

2. Shaktimaan

Mukesh Khanna’s epic portrayal of India’s favourite superhero gave Indian children their own version of superman. The show remained a favourite until it got off the air and was later, retelecasted several times on other channels.

3. Mahabharat

B.R Chopra’s Mahabharat was based on the Sanskrit epic of Mahabharata. It’s one of the most classical tv shows that children can enjoy during the lockdown along with their parents and have a glimpse of Indian mythology that has so much to teach.

Mahabharat is on the rerun from the 28th of March at 12 pm and 7 pm on DD National Network.

4. Ramayana

Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana was a treat for the Indian audience, narrating the story of India’s greatest mythological hero on his epic journey. The Story of Ramayana is one of justice, sacrifice and can provide children with moral lessons about life.

Ramayana is on a rerun from March 28th at 9 am and 9 pm on DD National Network.

5. Chota Bheem

The story of this animated series revolves around Bheem, who is an intelligent and young kid and helps people with their problems. The show is based in the fictional town of Dholakpur.

8. Shaka Laka Boom Boom

The show was first aired in the early 2000s and became an instant hit. The story revolves around Sanju and his magic pencil that can turn drawn objects into real objects/people. Each episode is filled with adventure and fun that can give kids the necessary entertainment.
