Keeping this in mind, and with a view to empowering the support staff, under the aegis of an initiative taken by the student council of Jayshree Periwal High School a session on ‘Personal Hygiene and Health checkup’ was organised at Jayshree Periwal High School.
Eminent doctors, Dr. Manu Singh & Dr. Geeta Ahuja were invited to enlighten them about the importance of hygiene and how to maintain it. The session kick started with the doctors briefing the Baijis and peons about oral hygiene and cleanliness of hair, eyes, nails, feet and hands. They further laid stress on the use of loose fitting cotton undergarments.
After this, followed a special session with the female workers of the school wherein they talked about the various health issues like hormonal changes, their imbalance and irregular menstrual cycles to name a few. Later there were thorough checkups done in order to see if there were any traces of breast cancer. The doctors gave out medical prescriptions to the Baijis and also invited them to their clinic for a free medical checkup and sonography.
