An inspiring husband decided to shun the rituals, instead chose to digitalise the Zilla Parishad school of his native village.

When Avinash Nakat’s wife breathed her last on 5 February, he decided to fulfil her wishes of doing a noble cause for the village than wasting time, efforts and money on the last rituals. His wife, Rupali, suddenly had a haemorrhage two days after she was diagnosed with acute leukemia. As much as Avinash and her doctors tried, they couldn’t save her. Though, she had always said to her social worker husband that she wanted to do something noble for their native village. When Avinash discussed his decision of making his wife immortal by digitalising the village school, he didn’t get much appreciation and support from the villagers; however, he decided to proceed further with his wife’s wishes, anyhow.

On 22 February, the school, which till date was known for its poor conditions and thus a falling number of students, was reinaugurated with digital solution, well laced with computers and projectors, newly painted walls,  white boards, new water purifiers, etc.

Avinash, well-known for his non-profit organisation Yuvarashtra, has always contributed for the noble cause of supporting farmers and their rights.
With shunning the last rites for his wife and instead digitalising the school, he not only has once again contributed to a noble cause but also helped make people think beyond superstitions and blindfaith.
