Sources in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said that the Board is mulling reforms in its examination system. To initiate changes in the examination pattern, the board would hold the ‘National Conference on Examination Reforms for Inclusive Education’ on August 23 and 24 in Delhi.

School principals, practitioners and experts have been invited to Delhi to put forward their opinions before the Board. Stakeholders from the northeast have also been invited to the important conference so that exam-related problems, especially from the difficult terrains of the region could be highlighted.

"The aim is to bring reforms in the examination system, taking into account the opinions of the people, who are closely involved with the education system. The conference will be an opportunity for the participants to express their observations and perspectives, suggest innovative practices regarding issues related to the education system," said a source in the CBSE.

Adverse climatic conditions and remoteness of the schools in northeast will feature in the discussions, the source added. Among the key issues, existing examination provisions, empowerment of children through skill development and the problems of differently-abled schoolchildren will be highlighted.
