CBSE-affiliated schools fail to show up when searched with their city name in the central board's official online search algorithm. They appear only when just the school’s name is typed in the search box of www.cbseaff.nic.in.
What was surprising was the fact that the search by the name of the city ‘Nagpur’ didn’t show results for the prominent schools of the city like Delhi Public School, Bhavans BVM (Trimurti Nagar), Raisoni Vidyaniketan and NK Academy (managed by Modern School trustee Neeru Kapai).
Principal of Delhi Public School, Akhilesh Chaturvedi said, “In all our correspondence with CBSE we have mentioned Nagpur as the city. Our school is a centre for the CBSE board exam, plus for competitive exams like JEE and AIPMT so it is a surprise the word 'Nagpur' is not reflecting in the affiliation website. We have sent a mail to CBSE to update the data.”
Citing limited space for entering data as the reason for the problem ParvatiIyer, principal of Bhavan's BVM (Trimurti Nagar), said, “There probably were space constraints in the form when data was being entered due to which this may have happened. We will definitely check on what the issue exactly is.”
