India has been fighting against child labour from a long time, but still there are so many children who are forced into the evil business. As an effort to bring change in the society through children themselves, the CBSE has urged schools to raise awareness among students through various school-based projects.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the fact that the violation of child rights is preventable. Schools have been requested to hold various events and competitions, like drawing, essay, drama, elocution etc, under this projects till August 12 with a common theme –  creating awareness about child labour.

The competitions need to be planned and divided into three stages. In stage 1, the students are required to gather information and set practical goals to promote eradication of child labor in their community. In stage 2, under the supervision of a teacher, a team of 10-15 students each will be formed. Such teams are then required to submit a report on any two of the following projects- a skit on the theme of human rights and social justice for child workers, a media project on the topic child labor in supply chain and a literacy project for child workers where they will be required to educate child workers inside or outside the school premises. The entries, in the form of the report will be evaluated by a panel of experts appointed by the Board.

Top 30 entries in each project will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
