Lakewood high-school intervention specialist Corey A. Streets has opened an education centre/shed called “Mr. Streets’ Centre for Remote Shed-ucation.” Interesting name! It’s constructed in the yard of Corey’s home in Lakewood, Ohio and is truly an example of the extra mile an educator can walk for their beloved students.

Corey transformed this shed into his own distance learning centre from where he could do his online teachings and live streamings; all the transformation was done under 100$.

“I have my desk set up with the MacBook where I’ll do all of my live-streaming from,” Corey told cleveland.com. “Behind me is a large monitor screen so I can put up visual examples or share them directly on the computer in our Zoom room. I have some counter space here. Hopefully, I can do some experiments that don’t blow up my shed,” he added.

In Lakewood City School, Corey is known for his MILES classroom that stands for ‘Moving to Independent Learning for Employment and Success,’ it features nine animals and two aquariums to teach students life skills that he deems necessary.

“It’s just nice to have a central location that will help me get into a routine,” he said. “There’s not much fun about the whole pandemic situation, but I thought this could be a fun thing to do.”

Educators like Corey are making efforts to do a lot with whatever they have got, just for the sake of their students, so these kids do not suffer academically during these unprecedented times.
