A heartwarming story from Tamil Nadu about a 7-year-old child Anis is making the headlines on how he donated all his 'life’s savings' to fight the Corona pandemic. He wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Edappadi K. Palaniswami expressing his innocent thoughts – "I have saved Rs. 845. I want to donate to you, uncle, for fighting Corona disease in our Tamil Nadu."

When Anis was asked why he donated the money, he said that he wants to help the large number of migrant workers walking to their homes without any food and those who are starving on roads.

“I am also talking to my friends about the donation. Two of my classmates said they are interested too,” he told media.

Compassion is an important element of humanity and it's highly important to keep it alive within us. Sadly, enforcing ideals through laws is not very effective as it will always be superficial and would not fetch effective results. So, how do we do that?

Children, being the future of human civilization, must be given appropriate lessons about constantly practising compassion and kindness in their life. We think Anis’ story can be used as an example to embed this very thought of compassion and human solidarity among children.

Any educator who is reading this story must take the opportunity to share it with the students. As young minds, they often require real-life examples to follow and this story is worthy to be shared with children of all age groups.
