Scientists say that a child’s brain development continues to happen till the age of 5, that is when most of the neural networks are fully developed. That is why it is important to provide the child with an environment conducive to stimulation and learning new things. However, things are different for Ananya Verma who is yet to hit the 5-year mark and has already been awarded the admission to IX grade in a Lucknow school after special consent from the education department.  At 4 years, 8 months and 21 days, this feat may land her a place in the Limca Book of Records.

If all goes well she will appear for the UP Board examinations in a little under than 2 years from now. If she clears the exam, Ananya will break the record of her own sister Sushma Verma, who cleared the X Board exams in 2007 at the age of a little over 7 years. Both the sisters attend the same school – St Meera's Inter College in Lucknow.

Endorsing the decision to grant Ananya an admission, district inspector of schools Umesh Tripathi said Ananya’s sheer talent landed her this admission. Since the board allows home education only till grade VIII and she speaks fluent Hindi and can read and understand grade IX textbooks easily she was deservingly granted the admission.

Ananya’s father works as an assistant supervisor (sanitation) at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University while her mother Chaya Devi is illiterate.

Brilliance runs in the wards of the family as her two elder siblings have already registered similar feats. Her brother Shailendra, the eldest of three children, graduated with a BCA degree when he was only 14. Sushma was only 15 when she secured an admission in PhD at BBAU+. The Limca book of records recognised Sushma the "youngest student" to clear class X when she was 7 years, 3 months and 28 days old in 2007.

Bahadur reminisces about Ananya's brilliance sharing that she could read the Ramayana and the Sundar Kaand when she was merely 21 months old. I am thankful to God for blessing us with wonder kids.

Anita Ratra, Ananya’s Principal is astonished by the child prodigy’s talent. She said when she asked Ananya to read the newspaper; the girl read it like an adult. She possesses amazing grasping power, she can learn by merely seeing and reading.
