Class 12 math paper leaked on WhatsApp at Ujjain centre

Minutes before the Class 12 MP board examination commenced the invigilator noticed the snapshot of the question paper in an examinees phone. The question paper had gone viral on a Whatsapp group at that exam center in Ujjain. The police were called and the examinee was removed from the center.

'Moments before the Class 12 Madhya Pradesh Board Examination commenced, excerpts of the mathematics question paper went viral on a WhatsApp group at an exam centre in Ujjain, an official said.

This is second consecutive year, when the board exam paper was circulated through WhatsApp in the state. In 2015, a snapshot of social science paper of Class 10 board examination was circulated through WhatsApp in the rural area and some part of the city.

“Minutes before the board exam started, an invigilator saw a snapshot of the last page of the mathematics paper on a WhatsApp group called “Jagteraho” on the mobile phone of the examinee,” said district education officer Sanjay Goyal.

“The official present at the exam centre immediately called me and after cross verifying we found that questions in the snapshot were the same as the one in the exam,” he said.

“We immediately called the local police and handed the examinee over to them. We also informed matter to the board officials and district collector about the incident and now the board will take decision on the matter.”

Meanwhile, authorities in Bhind district rubbished a report that said the mathematics question paper was leaked.

Talking to the media persons, Bhind collector Ilaya Raja T said, “I too got the paper through a WhatsApp group. We matched the questions with the original paper and not even a single question was same.”

Bhind continues to remain notorious for candidates who use unfair means during the examination.
