Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore interacts with 40 students and young professionals of Indian diaspora

40   students and young professionals in the age group of 18 to 30 who took part in the interactive session with Col. Rathore were from Fiji, Grenada, Guyana, Israel, Mauritius, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago.

A group of 40 students and young professionals of Indian diaspora from 9 countries, currently on a visit to India, here today met Minister of State (I/C) of Youth Affairs & Sports, Minister of state for Information & Broadcasting Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore to share ideas and exchange of their experiences on various aspects of contemporary India’s forms of art, heritage, culture and transformational changes that are taking place in India. The meeting was organized under the Know India Programme (KIP), an initiative of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for Indian diaspora.

During the hour long interaction, both side exchanged views on Indian cinema, sports, Heritage, Festivals like Holi and Dances of India. Col. Rathore elaborated to guests the Indian Parliamentary system and election of peoples’ representatives to both houses of Parliament. He also conveyed them the initiatives taken by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for promotion of sports and welfare of sportspersons in the country and how steps are being taken to bring professionalism for excellence in sports. He said, several programmes are being launched by the Government of India to further strengthen the feeling of unity among the citizens and gave details of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat programme initiated under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister shri Narendra Modi.
