Child Rights and You (CRY) has always been associated with laudable initiatives for the betterment of child education and the under privileged children. It has recently launched a new initiative 'School the Spark’ that aims to address issues related to children's education.
'School the Spark' will focus on solving the difficulties faced by less privileged children in obtaining even basic education. The nation is grappling with quality issues in education today and we are seeing diverse organizations across the nation planning to play a role in overcoming this issue.
According to CRY statistics, this initiative will influence a total of 2,52,293 children in the age group of 6 to 18 years. Atindra Nath Das, the Regional Director of CRY, said, "Thousands of children in India lack access to education and can't even write their own names. Moreover, children between the ages of 11 to 14 years are hugely vulnerable to dropping out of schools. The first phase of the campaign will ensure that 79,744 children in the age group of 11 to 14 years do not drop out of school and get a chance to recognize, channelize and develop their abilities to their full potential.”
It was also announced that professional mountaineer and cyclist Sudipto Pal will kickstart the campaign by undertaking a 5,000-km Trans-Himalayan cycle ride from Srinagar to Walong in order to raise awareness about the importance of child education.
