While scrapping the management quota from private schools of Delhi came as relief to many parents, schools in the city have stood against the measure.
Private schools in the capital have moved to High Court against the decision by Kejriwal government to scrap management quota. The schools termed the move as “absolutely illegal, arbitrary, whimsical and unconstitutional.” The schools have also claimed that the measure is in disagreement with the judgments of the Supreme Court and the High Court too.
Seeking quashing of the order, the action committee of Unaided Recognized Private Schools, argues, “In 1973, the Parliament enacted the Delhi School Education Act (DSE Act) and also framed the Delhi School Education Rules (DSE Rules) thereunder, thereby recognizing and conferring maximum autonomy upon private unaided recognized schools functioning in Delhi, inter alia, to regulate their own admissions in a fair, objective and rational manner.”
