Want to step into the world of coding? Don’t know how to do it… Here is Kano, a DIY ‘computer kit designed to help people of all ages assemble a computer from scratch, and learn basic coding skills,’ initiated by Alex Klein, Saul Klein and Yonatan Raz-Fridman with an aim to build a computer kit that would not only attract kids’ attention, but will also teach them something.
ScooNews got a chance to meet and interview the CEO of Kano, Yonatan Raz at the SURGE 2016 Bengaluru.
SN: Tell us about Kano?
Yonatan Raz: At Kano, our vision is to create a world where anyone, anywhere can make, learn and play with technology.

SN: When did it all start?
YR: We started three years ago. And now, using this, the kids code things themselves… share all their creations on a global social network. We have now thousands of kids, creating thousands of creations, recoding with over 40 million lines of code generated over the past three years.
SN: Are you looking for expanding your offices to India?
YR: We are always looking to expand… strategically, we are not yet in India but customers in India can buy our products online. And ya… we are very interested in coming to India. We think it’s an incredible market with the largest population of under 15 years, it’s decentralised, English is already pretty prevalent here and who knows India can be our biggest market for the next decade.
Well, if it is about coding, we can assure Kano of huge success in India, an example has already been set by Ganu kit..
