Doctoral Fellowships In Education Discipline by NCERT

NCERT announces Doctoral Fellowship for conducting research at doctoral level in education and related disciplines.

Doctoral Fellowship for conducting research at doctoral level in education and related disciplines will be offered by NCERT. Out of the 10 fellowships, four will be reserved for 4 Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs) one each for Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Mysore. However, the fellowship will be offered to other candidates if no suitable candidate from RIEs will be found.

A fellowship of Rs.23,000/- per month (for Non-NET) and Rs.25,000 per month (in case of NET qualified candidates) will be granted for three years from the date of permanent PhD registration and/or date of selection in NCERT. During this period, candidates will also receive a contingency grant of Rs.10,000 per annum.
 

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Good Academic record with at least 60% marks at both Graduate and Post Graduate Levels
  • Age should be 35 years or less, as on the last date of receipt of applications
  • Those who are already registered for PhD degree in a recognized university/ or are working toward their PhD registration can also apply
  • Completed predoctoral research methodology course or enrolled/selected for a similar course for appropriate duration as approved by UGC. After the completion of the course along with the confirmed registration for PhD work with the University, the candidate will be allowed to begin with his/her fellowship.

Applying for the Fellowship

A completed application form along with a concept paper on the proposed research’s theme (about 1500 words) is required to be submitted.

The concept paper should contain statements about

  • Rationale and objectives of the study, 
  • Conceptual framework, 
  • Proposed methodology, and
  • Potential contribution of the study.

The application along with attested copies of all mark sheets/certificates and proof of PhD registration (if already registered) should be mailed at the following address:

Last Date of Submission

The completed application form along with the requisite documents should be submitted one month from the date of the publication of the advertisement in newspapers.
