The Union Minister of Human Resource Development Dr Ramesh Pokriyal ‘Nishank’ participated in the Yoga Day activities on the occasion of the 5th International Day of Yoga 2019 along with a large number of people from all sections of the society.
The Minister led the Yoga Day activities at Dev Vatika, Burari in Delhi. Highlighting the importance of Yoga, the Minister said that Yoga should be performed daily, as it helps to reduce mental stress and provide physical strength and flexibility. He said that one can remain positive by performing meditation and different yoga postures along with right breathing exercises to develop a healthy mind and body.
The Minister said that Yoga has been accepted worldwide because of its benefits. He congratulated the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for making Yoga day as an International festival to celebrate health and well being. He added that the Yoga unites the body, mind, and breath. The Minister appealed to make Yoga, part of everyday life.
Officials and staff of the Ministry performed Yoga in Shastri Bhawan on International Yoga Day.
