The term ‘Education’ is a very commonly known one, but do we know what it really means? We may simply know it as a process of facilitating knowledge. But, it is far more profound than what we literally know about WHAT EDUCATION IS.

Education is not what we gain from books, it is a process of learning from one’s or other's experiences, it is to believe in our own creativity and put that creativity into action, it is something which remains in our head after forgetting what we learnt in school, college or university.

A great Swiss philosopher Jean Piaget puts in, “The principle goal of education in schools should be creating men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done.” Education is a door to freedom that allows us to think open-mindedly for bringing a positive change around with wisdom, knowledge and action which will eventually bring you to light from darkness as says Allan Bloom, “Education is the movement from darkness to light.”

According to me, Education is the key to unlock oneself to new horizons by knowing one’s strengths to face and win the world.

Not to be forgotten our teachers who play a very significant role, apart from our parents, in inculcating knowledge to make us capable beings to lead a better future. They are the ones who show us the path to education that gives us the means of developing our greatest abilities.

To conclude, I would like to share a famous quote of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Therefore, being educated is better than being learned.
