Eluru Mayor Noorjahan urges parents to admit children in Govt Schools

Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan & the Eluru Rotary Club distributed materials to govt schools and the mayor called upon parents to send their children to government schools.

Eluru's Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan visited Municipal Corporation Special Primary School at Sekhar Street in Powerpet area and requested the the parents to admit their children in Government schools, as quality education and basic infrastructure are being provided in the Government schools to help the students compete with the private and corporate schools.  The Mayor also provided the school with 26 benches and 20-litre water cans on Tuesday. 

The material was donated by the Eluru Rotary Club. Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said the educational standards had improved in Government schools and requested the philanthropists to liberally donate benches, textbooks, notebooks and uniform to the schools. She also distributed the uniform and books to the students in the school.

Other participants in the programme included Municipal Commissioner Y Sai Srikanth , Deputy Mayor Ramachandra Kishore, corporators Arnepalli Himagiri Apparao, D Sirisha Prasad, Rotary Club president G Lalitha, secretary A Narasimham, chartered accountant K Somasundara Sai, Municipal Schools Deputy Insepctor A T Sundara Rao and School Superintendent G Raghavulu.
