‘Necessity is the mother of invention’ is every bit true in the case of St. Charles Catholic School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They indeed found a creative way to showcase their students’ artwork while everyone is locked inside their houses during the Coronavirus panic.
This art show, that is held indoors is an annual event usually, took place in a drive-thru this year, making it unique and more fun! It showcased the artwork of the students from preschool to class 8. By changing the venue, the school wanted to make sure the organizers and the viewers practice social distancing.
Not only was it a great chance to see the artwork and get a break from the quarantined life, but the event also brought the community together in a safe way. Art Teacher Donna Gallegos said, “I think the purpose of the art show is to show everyone that we’re still a community even though we’re apart, that they can come together. They drove by and waved at each other and looked at the art and loved it.”
