Experiential Learning and Orientation Programme on School Administration Management Held at The Indian Public School, Dehradun
A day’s workshop for Principals’ on “Experiential Learning and Orientation Programme on School Administration Management” was jointly hosted by The Indian Public School, Dehradun and CBSE, Delhi.
ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON – ‘EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AND ORIENTATION PROGRAMME ON SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION MANAGEMENT’
A day’s workshop for Principals’ on “Experiential Learning and Orientation Programme on School Administration Management” was jointly hosted by The Indian Public School, Dehradun and CBSE, Delhi.
A total of over 1200 Principals/Vice Principals /Coordinators attended this workshop. The scale on which this important meet was hosted can be understood by the participation of 22,000 schools from 16 regions.
Shri.R.K.Sinha MP Rajya Sabha, Chairman of The Indian Public School Educational foundation Society welcomed Mr. Anurag Tripathi, Secretary, CBSE, Mr. Shekhar Chand, Assistant Secretary CBSE, Dr. B.N. Singh, CoE CBSE and Mr. Ranber Singh RO CBSE, Dehradun.
The welcome address was given by Mr. Sanjeeva Kumar Sinha, Principal of The Indian Public School. Mr. Ranber Singh also addressed the participants and talked at length about the workshop. Mrs. Renu Mattoo, Member Board of Governors, The Indian Public School Educational Foundation Society also spoke on the topics related to the workshop.
There were modular presentations on Experiential Learning by IPS, Welham Boys, Sapience School, DPSG and Doon Heritage School all hailing from Dehradun.
Mr.Anurag Tripathi in his keynote address covered the entire gamut of Experiential Learning Activity. He impressed upon the need for kindling creativity amongst the impressionable minds by giving them ideas that release a train of thought in individual minds and make leaders of the future. Learning by rote versus ‘Hands-on doing’, or in other words, learning by doing is the only mantra of this century that will transform and bring about the desired change in the society as a whole. He further elaborated on the need for the wider practice of taking up challenging assignments; for this, he quoted specific events as recorded in the Mahabharata popularly known as the epic conversation between Lord Krishna and Karana. He also touched upon the iron resolves of Alexander for whom anything however formidable was possible. In this way, he stressed the importance of those dreamers who translate their dreams into reality without being bogged down by difficulties. Experiential learning, he added, had huge benefits: it not only ignites the mind with yearning curiosity but also brings about a soothing shower of satisfaction that releases the stress within. Furthermore, it sensitizes the minds to deep-rooted problems and logically orients the minds towards problem-solving. The best part is that the evolving minds cultivate the gentleness of dignity that has a lasting effect on the community from where they hail and prove an asset to the country and the world at large.
In the closing address Shri.R.K.Sinha, MP Rajya Sabha, Chairman of The Indian Public School Educational Foundation Society also highlighted the importance of Experiential Learning in this fast-changing world which is technology-driven and efficiency conscious. He touched upon the immense potential that children have at this impressionable age, where the world is opening up to them and they have to be the ones to respond effectively and address challenges on their own.
