Fr. Willmes Memorial Photography Contest-Exhibition Starts in St. Xavier’s School, Jaipur
St. Xavier’s School, Jaipur, was bustling with activity today with as many as four different events taking place within the school. The day of events started with a tad bit of delay at the senior hall, which had Parallax Photography exhibition
St. Xavier’s School, Jaipur, was bustling with activity today with as many as four different events taking place within the school. The day of events started with a tad bit of delay at the senior hall, which had Parallax Photography exhibition organized in loving memory of Father Willmes, who breathed his last almost 12 years back. The two-day event, organized by Xavier’s Photography Club, every year invites and exhibits photographs from all over the state on day 1, while prizes for the top few photographs are distributed on day two.
The hall echoed with claps as Father John Ravi, Principal Xavier’s, inaugurated the exhibition with lighting the lamp. The principal is known for his encouraging words for his students. Today, his message not only encouraged them for getting into more details but he also took this opportunity to spread awareness about nature. In the words of Father John Ravi, “Watch out for more details, appreciate the beauty in front of your eyes, love the author of this universe. Photography is not merely clicking pictures, but it brings you closer to various forms of life, or no life. It helps you develop a love for nature, it helps you understand things better. It would also teach you a lesson for being eco-friendly.” The message probably was a quick and short one, but it surely had a deep message. Both the younger and the elder student photography enthusiasts were noticed to be quite eager to learn.
Students from some of the top schools, like Maharani Gayatari Devi School, St. Anselm’s Mansarovar, Neerja Modi School, Rukmani Birla Modern High School, Subodh Public School, Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, India International School, Jayshree Periwal International School, etc., had participated and interacted with each other at the exhibition.
As we reached the venue, we saw many participants and visitors had already started thronging the venue way before the time, showing high enthusiasm. Many young photographers from various schools proudly elaborated us their clicks, though few of them were amazed by the kind of clicks by their seniors. However, the energy and a will to learn yet more from their seniors even though they knew they might not be winning the prizes was quite amazing.
