Truly, some schools don’t just focus on academics but they also look out for overall development. Well, St. Anselm’s School, Jaipur is one of those who emphasis on the all round development of its students. When our most loved festival, Diwali is reaching round the corner, St. Anselm’s came up with its Yuva Mahotsav, a week full of fun filled activities.
Students invoking deities, Bengali way!
Though the event was totally a blend of different activities, the last day of the program was evenly enthralling and enticing to lead us back to the school for its every annual function. Various amusing activities like dance, music and drama by little children enlightened the event and made everyone in the audience enjoy.
Seniors students enacting a play
One of the dances included boys and girls dancing together to the tune of “Abhi Mujhme kahi”, the amazing fact about the different dances were that they all were based on different themes. One of the theme focused on Disabled and physically challenged people, showed how people feel pity for disabled and hence don’t consider them part of normal society, it ended with the message that rather than feeling pity one should treat them as equal. It was mesmerizing to see the Lil’ kids fully engrossed in their dances. Team ScooTalks was almost glued to their seats.

Yet another event of the day was the Plays, plays on corruption, Ego, jealousy and temper. Isn’t it ironic? How we ignore these crucial emotions in lives. However, the way these students pictured these strong emotions with utter honesty was something we adults can only think of.

Talking of corruption, a play on one of the government departments, highlighted the hands of government immersed in corruption. This reminded me of a famous television show “Office-Office” how the person Mussadi Lal keeps going to the public office again and again every day and never got his work done. The theater revealed how a person keeps going to the electricity department office repeatedly for his excessive electricity bill; he had to give bribe numerous times in the process, which just doesn’t seem to end. The play very well portrayed how a common man gets cheated and bribed in the government offices.
Dance performance by the young stars of the school
Another Drama, not exactly a drama but a combination of dance and play based on famous Bengali Durga Pooja, captivated all The highlight of the entire performance was magnificent dance on “Sarva Mangal Mangalaya”, words we usually here during the marriage, but yes, these children were gloriously moving there feet’s to the rhythm with big Bengali diyas in their hands. Some sight it was to see them dance so gracefully in Sarees
We almost felt like dancing along with them. The crowd stood to their feet’s to greet these students with a lot of cheers, whistles and applauds.

Next was song by a student who beautifully sang a Punjabi song “Soch-Hardy Sandhu” and dragged us in the front row; I mean we people can’t even speak Punjabi fluently and this little girl, Vibhooti sang the whole song. Amazing! Is the only word that came to our mind.
