GEMS Education schools and teachers bag four awards for outstanding achievements

GEMS Education schools and teachers were recognized in the inaugural Education Journal Middle East Awards. GEMS schools won the Primary Team of the Year and PE Department of the Year, while two GEMS teachers won individual awards for their achievement in their respective fields.

GEMS Education schools and teachers were recognized in the inaugural Education Journal Middle East Awards.

GEMS schools won the Primary Team of the Year and PE Department of the Year, while two GEMS teachers won individual awards for their achievement in their respective fields.

Our Own English High School, Sharjah, Girls won the award for best Primary Team of the Year while Jumeirah Primary School won for best PE Department of the Year. Tony Suares from The Millennium School was awarded the ‘Maths Teacher of the Year’ and Melanie Newbigging from The Kindergarten Starter bagged the award for ‘Teaching Assistant of the Year’.

With 250 educators attending the event, 15 teachers and schools were honoured to acknowledge their outstanding contribution to education.

Out of 30 nominees which were shortlisted from the GEMS Education network, 6 were placed as ‘highly commended’ in their respective categories. The schools to receive highly commendable mention were The Millennium School, GEMS Wellington Academy – Silicon Oasis whereas teachers from Winchester School, Jebel Ali and Our Own English High School, Dubai were also highlighted.
