Haryana education minister Ram Bilas Sharma gave birth to a peculiar controversy on Tuesday by making a statement on the dress code for government school teachers at Ambala. The Haryana education department had earlier passed an order, banning government school teachers from wearing jeans to work, which was later taken back.
During the yoga event on the occasion of International Yoga Day at War Heroes Memorial Stadium in Ambala Cantonment, Sharma said while speaking to newspersons: "We are not worried about teachers wearing jeans to school. We will be worried if they come naked."
When questioned about the context in which the minister made the remark about the dress of teachers, he refused to elaborate. Along with which the minister did not answer to why the government first ordered a ban on jeans and then withdrew it.
We wonder where is democracy and freedom now?
