Chennai parents and schools were left troubled after a hoax bomb scare. Just as soon as the parents heard of the bomb scare, they started fluttering to the schools to bring back their wards voluntarily. Parents gathered in large number in front of city schools to take their wards away, even as the police assured of strict actions against culprits.

The problem initiated after a bomb scare at a school was raised, which later turned out to be a hoax. But despite it being hoax, the rumors spread like fire on various social media, informed the police.

One of the police officials, preferring to stay anonymous said, “Rumors are being spread through WhatsApp. No bombs had been found. Parents need not panic.”

Police further went on to say that as an effect of these rumors, many parents carried their wards back to home from the schools that were closes to East Coast Road and Mylapore.

Consoling further, the police said that the matter is being looked into and the culprit will soon be taken strict action against.
