Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje asked father principal John Ravi, SJ to collaborate with RSLDC at 75th anniversary of St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Jaipur. Congratulating the school for celebrating the platinum jubilee celebrations, she appreciated the vocational program started by the St Xavier’s College campus, Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC), which imparts training to women from economically marginalized families. She further added, “So, Father I would like to urge you to partner with RSLDC.”

“Mere training or degree today is of very little use unless you are able to take up some kind of vocational training,” added Raje.

His Grace Salvatore Pennacchio – Apostolic Nuncio, India and Nepal, acknowledged her presence and said the Jesuit community in India has made huge efforts for the education of the youth, highlighting the fundamental human quality of love and respect the students who have passed out of the Jesuit institutions show.

The celebrations for the unrivalled legacy then continued with the felicitation of former rectors by Rev Fr Varkey Perekkatt, SJ.

Encouraging everyone to keep moving forward despite all odds, entered the students singing the motivational ‘Pairon ki bediyan khwabon ko baandhe nahi re, kabhi nahi re’ from the movie Udaan. The students of the newly opened branch at Newta were not behind in performing for their alma mater who, looking attractive in various hues, danced on the theme of five elements of nature. The absolutely stunning performance was received by a roaring round of applause from the huge audience.

Decked up in yellow uniforms came the bagpiper band, an ensemble of pipers and drummers formed a few months back, amusing everyone with their synchronized drill. The captain of the band instructed the members so well that even CM Raje couldn’t help but appreciate him along with praising the equal involvement of girls in the band. To bring the event to an end were the senior students who added charm to the entire function by their dance performance on amalgamation of various Rajasthani songs.

With scintillating performances and presence of eminent personalities the function was worth praising. The day thus came to an end, however, the celebration of completion of 75 successful years are to continue till long!
