In rural Indore,  the issue of school boundary walls has been a major concern for several years. To put an end to the problem, the district administration (rural development) and school education department are planning to grow green bushes around 947 government schools. This unique initiative will provide green boundaries and fresh air to the rural Indore schools which include Mhow, Depalpur and Sanwer. The ploughing around the schools have started and the bushes will be planted with the onset of rains.

The idea is also an attempt to create an eco-friendly environment for the kids and give a message of protecting and planting trees and understand their importance.

"The kids studying in the schools will also and will also be taught to grow and take care of the plants" said the department officials.

Speaking about the initiative, district collector P Narahari said, "The idea of growing green bushes around govt schools came after a number of discussions with experts and education department officials. The expense of constructing boundary walls was too high because of the large number of schools."
