The 2003 film ‘School of Rock’ stars Jack Black as a struggling rock guitarist Dewey Finn, who is kicked out of his band and subsequently disguises himself as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. After witnessing the musical talent of his students, Dewey forms a band of fifth-graders to attempt to win the upcoming Battle of the Bands and pay off his rent.

Albus Dumbledore from J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series is the headmaster of the wizarding school Hogwarts. Considered the most powerful wizard in the world, Dumbledore is benevolent and wise, a good wizard in the style of Merlin.

Pramod Sharma, played by Vinod Khanna in ‘Imtihan’ is one of the most inspiring fictional teachers, who tries to reform a bunch of college students with no support from the system.

Professor Charles Xavier, better known as Professor X, a fictional character created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, is the founder of the X-Men. He is an exceptionally powerful telepath who can read and control the minds of others. To both shelter and train mutants from around the world, he runs a private school in the X-Mansion in Salem Center, located in Westchester County, New York.

Yoda is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas, first appearing in the 1980 film ‘The Empire Strikes Back’. In the original trilogy, he trains Luke Skywalker to fight against the Galactic Empire. The films and Expanded Universe (of Star Wars) reveal that he had a hand in training almost every Jedi Master in the galaxy.

In the black and white movie, ‘Jagriti’, Abhi Bhattacharya plays Shekhar, a boarding school teacher, who tries to instill good values in the students using unorthodox teaching methods. He gains the students' trust and educates them about the heritage of their country and encourages them to become model citizens.

In ‘Dead Poets Society’, Professor John Keating played by Robin Williams is an English teacher who inspires his students through his teaching of poetry. The character was created by Tom Schulman, based on his experiences at the Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, particularly with his inspirational teacher Samuel Pickering.

Mr. Miyagi is a fictional karate master played by Japanese American actor Pat Morita in ‘The Karate Kid’ (franchise). Mr. Miyagi mentors the characters Daniel LaRusso and Julie Pierce in the films.

Richard Dreyfuss received the Best Actor Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Glenn Holland, the beloved music teacher of an Oregon high school in ‘Mr. Holland’s Opus’. The film spans the highs and lows of Mr. Holland’s entire 30-year career, culminating in one last emotional performance before he retires.

In ‘Dangerous Minds’, which is based on a true story, Michelle Pfeiffer stars as Louanne Johnson, a former U.S. Marine who takes on the challenge of teaching a classroom filled with high school students with no desire to learn. With the help of Coolio’s hit song, she helps turn them around.
