Jayshree Periwal Group of Schools had a commanding presence at Shiamak’s Summer Funk event ‘Rise of the Champion’s with a record 1350 participants. The students were full of enthusiasm and confidence to etch a place in history for themselves.

The most awaited summer workshop, SHIAMAK Summer Funk was a grand success one more time with hundreds of dance enthusiasts of various age groups performing multiple dance styles on stage. Birla Auditorium was the epicenter of all activity and the entire city marked its attendance to watch the dance spectacle.

Through their motto, ‘Have Feet. Will Dance’ Shiamak reaffirms his belief that everyone can dance. The Summer Funk dance workshop gives students an opportunity to learn and train in their favourite dance style, learn the finer nuances of dance movement and gain a wholesome perspective working on costumes and properties. The annual student show, Summer Funk Show, gives a platform for all participating students to perform on stage in a professional setup. Making them feel like stars, the show is a true performing arts experience.

The stage that has created many stars before including Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Darsheel Safary and many more is ready to create more at the shows this year!

Artistic Director of India’s premier dance institute, Shiamak Davar embarked on a journey over twenty years back on a mission to spread the joy of dance. The world’s biggest dance academy introduced a healthy dance competition at the show this year – Rise of the Champions where each participating team competed to become the best dance class and best venue. Building team spirit and helping them work harder; the competition went beyond just dance-ability where the judges also considered their costumes, energy and group effort while making the final decision.
