Jayshree Periwal High School celebrates its 15th annual sports day

Jayshree Periwal High School celebrated its 15th Annual sports day on 11 March 2016 for students from grade 3 to 5. While there were several races like the Ring the lion, Three Legged Race, Cheetah Sprint Race and German Drill Race etc., the skating performance was the real show stealer.

Like all good schools providing all-round development to its students, Jayshree Periwal High School understands the importance of competitive sports activities. “Sports encompasses more than just the benefit of physical activity, it instills a sense of teamwork, alertness and confidence in the child”, the Director, Dr. Jayshree Periwal said.

“Breaking from the monotony of daily routine studies, sports are good & positive diversions that teach a child to handle success and failures with the right spirit. The display of talent before an audience ingrains much needed courage and self confidence”, continued Periwal.

The 15th Annual Sports Day was held for grades 3rd –5th  at the Jayshree Periwal High School, on the 11th March' 2016. The day started with the flag being unfurled by Periwal. The events started with the lighting of the torch, where the torchbearers marched to lively music and handed the flame to the Director who lighted the torch.

The most spectacular of all events was skating, where the children displayed their skating skills in unison. It was indeed a breathtaking sight to watch students skating in tandem. This was followed by several races like Ring the lion, Three Legged Race and the Cheetah Sprint Race and German Drill Race etc.

The student events were followed by a teachers' race which was a joyous moment for the children. They were thrilled to see their favorite teachers make a dash for the finish line.

The winners were awarded medals and the day was closed with a patriotic rendition of the National Anthem.
