Schools are increasing creating environmental awareness in children right from an early age. This is a appropriate initiative by schools as through various engagement initiatives children are compelled to not only think about the environmental consequences of human activity but also apply themselves creatively in search of possible solutions for the same.
Towards this end Jayshree Periwal High School had organised a poster making competition for students from grade II through VIII on April 21.
The themes given to the students ranged from Saving water to the Bliss of Nature, from saving mother earth to eradicating garbage from the planet.
The senior sections dished out a marvellous display of artistry through a wide range of posters on topics like "My vision of peace, conserve wildlife, creating a brighter tomorrow, make in India & the pursuit of happiness.”
Principal Madhu Maini reiterated that the aim of this activity was not merely to provide a creative outlet to the students but also to trigger a conservational mindset in children while sensitizing them towards these serious issues. Competitions of the sort increase the observational skills response to thoughts, awareness and concern of the children towards global issues .
