According to Tanveer Sait, Minister for primary and secondary education, minority welfare and Wakf, the state of Karnataka can boast of the best Education policy in the country.
The minister was speaking after inaugurating the MESCO PU College at Subash Nagar on Saturday last week. He said the mindset that government schools are for the poor, aided schools are for the middle-class and private schools are for the rich needs to be changed. "The government schools of Karnataka are trying to compete with private schools," he said.
The Mysore Educational, Social and Cultural Organisation (MESCO) and Al Mamoor Ladies Association will jointly manage the PU College. Sait said that he was aware that there were over 20,000 vacancies to be filled in the department of public instruction and that the procedure to fill up these vacancies will be initiated soon.
Abdul Khader Sait, president, MESCO, Ulfath Fathima, President, Al-Mamoor Ladies Association and others were present at the inauguration of the new college.
