Kurnool collector stresses importance of education to parents and children

On the occasion of Badi Pilustondi, the Kurnool district collector Vijay Mohan spoke on ways of making the Peddapadu village an exemplary one. It included planting saplings and a host of other community and infrastructure initiatives.

Now here is a Collector who may have stepped right out of a utopian movie or a book. Collector Vijay Mohan from Kurnool district emphasised the importance of education and planting of saplings while speaking at Badi Pilustondi programme in Peddapadu village in Kurnool.

During his speech, he urged the villagers of Peddapadu to whole heartedly contribute their efforts and services for the development of the village which should become a model one in Kurnool district. 

The Collector said that the importance of education couldn’t be over emphasised and urged the parents to get their children an admission in the school and students should continue with the mission of making their village an exemplary one. This year the village is targeting to plant around 10 lakh saplings of which 1.20 lakh have already been planted in 1,320 schools within just a week. 

Seeing the good work and the unmatched enthusiasm of the villagers the government has proposed to extend ₹ 22 lakh to the village on the grounds of encouragement and another ₹22 lakh for the development of the village.

To reach its goal of becoming an exemplary village, Peddapadu will have to complete at least 100 farm ponds, rain harvesting pits in every house, individual toilets and 50 vermi composts, he said. Later, the villagers felicitated the Collector for working hard for the development of the village. Prior to felicitation Vijay Mohan distributed school books to the children. 

Peddapadu sarpanch Sreedhar Reddy, DWAMA project director Pulla Reddy, DEO Ravindra Reddy, head master Omkar were present at the programme.
