Cherishing the most important element of life – Food! As a part of Kalam Week in the school, Subodh Public School, Airport organized a Tiffin Party on the occasion of International Food Day for classes 1st to 3rd.

Who doesn’t love food! And when it’s about kids, they love it all the more. Their’s is the right time to learn about sharing. Subodh Public School, Airport, realizes the importance of basic moral teachings for kids. But rarely does such innovative ideas click for moral teachings! Isn’t it amazing?

Teachers of these classes assigned countries to the children who were then supposed to bring cuisines relating to those countries, like Chinese, Italian, Indian, Mexican, etc.

So, what exactly happened in the Tiffin party?
Much to children’s delight, kids decorated the whole classroom as per their will, that is to say,  in perfectly children’s style! A variety of food charts and collages and its nutrient were pasted on the walls of the classroom. Marking the importance of the event,  all students had their lunch together, ate all the delicious home-cooked food exchagning  with each other. Pasta, Chowmein, Noodles, Chips, Macroni, Rolly Polly, various Indian dishes and what not … Wow! Sounds yummy and mouth watering!

What was unusual about the party, you might wonder. Don’t children rather do it daily? I know, I know that’s true, but children don’t get to know the nutrients of their food daily. The basic idea behind this party was not just to teach them moral values, but also to let children learn about the nutrient value of what they eat, how food helps them grow.

Seems like the school is preparing its student for the next junior master chef which is evident from what Mrs Kamaljeet Yadav, Principal, personally asked each and every student. She personally asked students to explain the recipe and nutrients of the dish that they have brought for the party.

The party concluded with many happy faces and children smiling ear to ear.

By the way, ScooTalks team also tasted food that the kids had brought. Yep, we loved forgetting the part that it was children’s partyyy …lip smacking party it was!
