Mother goes to school to complaint against teacher beating daughter, ends up being beaten by other teachers.

At a time when parents and activists are raising cudgels against corporal punishment in schools. A case has surfaced in Barmer, where violence was perpetrated in the school not only against a 7-year-old girl but also her mother.

Allegedly, the teacher beat up the girl studying in grade III in a private school for not doing her homework. The student’s mother decided to confront the school authorities over the incident. When she went to school, she too was beaten up, this time by 3 instructors of whom2 were women. Not to sit quietly, the mother went ahead and lodged a police complaint and investigations have already started into the matter.

The young child is now understandably scared after having witnessed violence against herself and then against her mother. The guardians are understandably angry and are demanding strict action against the accused. The student is in a state of shock after the incident and is hardly speaking. The mother has revealed that the experience has been very trying for her daughter and that she is having a high fever ever since she has come home.

Women station officer Ranveer Singh said a resident of Bhopala Ram of Barmer has lodged a case at the station according to which the complainant’s 7-year-old granddaughter had forgotten to do her homework resulting in getting a beating from her teacher, Lakshmi. When the child’s mother went to school, she too was beaten up. Singh said a case has been lodged under Sections 354, 323 and 379 and investigations have begun.
