No More Management Quotas for School Admissions?
School admission will now be easier in the capital city, even in private schools. Says who? Well, the Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal himself. And rule has now been implemented.
Admission in schools is quite a gamble these days with quotas being offered to many. However, it soon is to get easier as quotas are being scrapped. And to start with, the process has been implemented in the capital city, Delhi.
Bringing a breather to many parents, Delhi government has announced and scrapped quota system from private schools. The reason? Arvind Kejriwal, the CM who has initiated the step, says it is because of scandals that have been smelled and proved, the invisible transparency, etc. However, he also clarifies that the 25% quota for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will continue.
Management quota, something that many parents dreaded, something that didn’t let them get their wards admitted to the best schools, something that demanded parents to shell out an entire year’s earnings, is no more valid.
So, can we now expect education not to be sold but imparted?
