With an experience of 28 years in teaching, Noren Kuli from Dhemaji, Assam, is also working as an Atal Tinkering Lab in-charge since 2017. He teaches science to grades 8-10 at Laimekuri Higher Secondary School.
Kuli takes ATL classes for grade 6-10 six days a week, making sure all his students attend at least one class in seven days. However, following the school-reopening after many months of lockdown, he's requesting them to attend regular classes to keep in touch with their inner innovator.
Interestingly, this teacher has experience in working with Biodiversity Conservation as he's worked with NGOs before joining this school. “Since our district has a lot of biodiversities, it is evident that learning about it and its’ conservation needs to begin at the school level. Considering my strong background in the field, the school chose me to be their ATL in-charge three years ago. I teach my students keeping the same objective in mind," he tells ScooNews.
"ATL has made a huge difference in my student’s lives. With limited exposure to technology until now, these labs are currently giving them a chance to be more innovative, curious and interested. Though I could not, I feel very proud that my students will someday become scientists because of the opportunities in front of them. From a slow-life to ATL classes, we've come a long way," he adds.

Kuli is also overlooking a project in Herbal medicine which the locals are using to cure Coronavirus. They are studying the composition of the substance and even calling in experts to validate their studies.
We think he's an apt example of excellence and humility which is plausibly why he is an Exemplary Teacher of Change in this difficult year.
