Now ‘smart class rooms’ for Ludhiana government schools.

To improve the quality of education and to boost teacher-student interaction, ‘Smart Class Rooms’ are being introduced in Ludhiana govt schools by the district administration, in association with Rotary Club of Ludhiana.

To improve the quality of education being imparted in classrooms and to increase teacher-student interaction, the district administration, in association with Rotary Club of Ludhiana, has started introducing 'Smart Class Rooms' in 41 government schools and at the Nirdosh School for special children.

Out of the 41 planned classrooms, 5 were inaugurated on Wednesday by the Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat in 5 government primary schools. The Rotary Club of Ludhiana has earmarked a total ₹27.33 lakh for this cause.

The 5 smart class rooms inaugurated were at government primary schools in Sarabha Nagar, Sunet (two schools), PAU and Gobind Nagar.

Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat informed that it is planned to provide 42 ‘smart class rooms’ to 41 government schools of city. (Government Primary School, Giaspura to have two smart class rooms).

Bhagat went on to elaborate that each of these classrooms will have a 40 inch LED HD TV, a computer, UPS, softwares for audio visual teaching aids, besides other such equipment. He also said that there will be no dependency on the internet for operating these class rooms.

Thanking the Rotary Club of Ludhiana, the District Administration urged other organisations also to contribute to the district administration’s efforts for projects that benefit the students directly.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that the 2 prominent city clubs (Sutlej and Lodhi) have already agreed to donate a portion of their income for education purposes. While lauding the club’s initiative, he urged other private schools to adopt at least 1 government school each so that it benefits the students of government schools.

VK Anand, President (2015-2016), Rotary Club of Ludhiana, informed that 48 Rotarians have contributed from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh each for this noble cause. He said that their club is always willing to assist the District Administration for any noble cause.
