One GEMS school and 17 GEMS students honoured for academic excellence at 19th Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Awards

One GEMS Education school, nine GEMS students and two families from GEMS schools in the UAE have been recognised at the 19th Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance.

One GEMS Education school, nine GEMS students and two families from GEMS schools in the UAE have been recognised at the 19th Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance.

GEMS Our Own English High School, Sharjah Girls has been announced as the most Distinguished School / School Administration, while nine students from GEMS Our Own English High School, Sharjah, The Millennium School, Dubai, Our Own High School, Dubai, GEMS Our Own Indian School, Dubai, The Winchester School, Dubai, GEMS Modern Academy, Jumeirah College, Dubai have been listed in the Outstanding Student category.

Sir Christopher Stone, Chief Education Officer, GEMS Education, said: “We are extremely proud of GEMS Our Own English High School, Sharjah Girls, and of the students and families who have been recognised.  These awards are a great acknowledgement of the hard work and passion that each of them possesses, as well as to the dedication to excellence shown by the school, their families and teachers. We congratulate each one of them and look forward to their future successes.”

The family of Iqbal Ahmed Ansari from The Millennium School, Dubai and the family of Umar Ahamed Shakir from GEMS Our Own English High School Dubai, are two families who have been named winners in the Sheikh Hamdan Distinguished Family category.

The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance has been designed to recognise academic achievements, talents, skills and leadership abilities across a variety of disciplines.

Additionally, eight GEMS students – including four from Our Own English High School Dubai, two from GEMS Our Own English High School Sharjah, Girls and one each respectively from The Millennium School, Dubai and GEMS Winchester School, Abu Dhabi have also been awarded the Sharjah Educational Award for Outstanding Performance.
