Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is all set to train school children and their parents in a five-day training course on "Enhancing Creative and Culinary Skills" from June 27 to July 1. The training is to be held under the guidance of R S Sidhu, director of extension education, PAU.
G S Buttar, additional director of extension education, PAU, told that the home science experts would impart practical training in basic hand embroidery stitches, painting and macrame knotting for skill development. Besides, experts would improve cooking skills of the children by giving demonstrations in the preparation of snacks and drinks. Trainees will also get educated about innovative use of waste materials, preparation of utility and decorative articles by paper quelling, and preparation of toys.
The training program will see senior home scientists as technical coordinators and Rupinder Kaur, professor of extension education coordinating the course.
