A blind girl, Khushboo, who studies in Government Upper Primary School in Relmangra region of Rajsamand, was mercilessly beaten up and expelled by the principal of the school, Salagram Yadav, on 26 February. In the investigation of the same, the principal, being found guilty, has been put on awaiting posting orders (APO).

The reason of beating her up? Yadav says that Khushboo had wandered into the boy’s toilet. As the villagers demonstrated their anger against the principal on 28 February demanding an FIR against him, senior district education officer ordered an immediate probe into the matter, only to find that most of the school students are scared of Yadav and his attitude towards students. The students have stated that he has been cruel to many of them, a fact that has lead to a severe dropout rate from the school.

Classmates and parents of the 8-year-old student Khushboo have also alleged that Yadav, who also teaches science to the students of the class 8, had been regularly asking her parents to admit her to asylum. However, Khushboo, whom he claimed to be asylum-fit, can easily write on a regular slate, even though she’s blind.

Yadav spotted the blind girl entering into the boy’s toilet from where he dragged her out, beating her up and asking her to leave the school premises. Seeing the girl cry bitterly, the villagers came to know about the punishment by the principal, angry and demanding justice.
