A professional development workshop on “The Art of Teaching” was conducted on 29th March 2017 by Mr. Amit Kumar Singh at M D International School, Bijnor. Approximately 85 teachers attended this workshop.

The workshop examined the principles of good teaching to be carried out in teaching at school level. He included activities in workshop session for participants to enable them to learn how they could interact with the parents in a better way.

He explained Teaching is not a job; it is an art. An art hidden behind a load of responsibilities. It lays the foundation of discovering mysteries, solving problems, and training our minds to question, explore, and investigate. To a world where knowledge is a treasure, teaching is a mirror that reflects future generations.

The workshop focussed on following aspects of “The Art of Teaching”:

1. What student learn is always less than what teacher teach but they may imagine beyond our imagination.

2. How much they learn is determined by their

(I) native ability
(II) Background in the course topic
(III) Motivation for taking the course

3. We can’t do much about their ability, background and learning styles

Conclusion of the workshop: To Maximize student learning, we must work on our Teaching style
