PSEB delegation updates education minister Cheema on plight of affiliated schools

The Association of the Punjab School Education Board led a delegation under its president Rajinder Sharma to meet the Punjab Education Minister Daljeet Singh Cheema regarding a variety of issues faced by the affiliated schools of Punjab. The minister assured the group of action.

While news are galore about parents approaching the education department or in some cases the education minister to complaint against the various problems they are facing, a deputation of the Association of the Punjab School Education Board, Affiliated Schools, Punjab (Regd) (PSEB) met Daljeet Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab, under the president Rajinder Sharma, IM Dutta and Manmohan Parashar to bring to light the various difficulties the affiliated schools of the state are facing today.

The PSEB personnel submitted a memorandum which included the collection of ₹1,200 from the affiliated schools for payment of the Fee Committee of the Punjab government, online admission of Punjab open schools, commercial charges of electricity imposed by the state on the affiliated schools, checking by the Fee Committee in the affiliated schools, step-motherly treatment of the government in issuing the scholarship to the students getting more than 80% marks.

The education minister gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured them of due action to sort out the various problems faced by these schools.

Rajinder Sharma, president, PSEB, also gave a copy of the memorandum to Cheema which they had already sent to the Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab, regarding the above stated problems.
