Ragging reaches new heights as DPS Noida student quits school after being ragged

The parents of a student have taken a serious note of a ragging incident when their ward had to be hospitalised after ragging. They have taken their ward out of DPS Noida and are searching for another school. The school management, meanwhile has suspended all accused of ragging.

A 15-year old DPS Noida student landed in the hospital after being ragged by senior students. The parents of the student have promptly taken the student out of the school and are seeking admission in some other school.

A resident of Bulandshahr, the class XI student was rushed to Kailash Hospital Sector 27 after the ragging went wrong. The doctors discharged the student after initial treatment. His father said, "He received injuries in his leg and head. We feel that putting him in the same school is not safe. We have taken him out of school. We will seek his admission in some other school in Greater Noida". He added that the family will not put him in a hostel in future having seen this incident.

Meanwhile, the student's 16-year old classmate who was also beaten up by the senior boys when he tried to intervene has returned to the school and joined classes. The boy is continuing his classes only when his local guardian was assured that the incident will not be repeated.

A DPS official said that the school disciplinary committee suspended the students accused of bulling the junior students. "We have suspended the accused students from the hostel. We held a counseling session of students. The school management is actively looking into the matter."
