"Set your goals high and don't stop till you get there."

Rajan BS, a boy from an industrial town of Bhadravathi in Shivamogga district achieved his goal by scoring 625/625 in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exams of 2016. SSLC wasn't a smooth ride for the students. With the paper-leak scam and multiple re-examinations, the students kept losing their confidence. But when the results were out, Rajan's achievement proved that he hadn't lost his confidence. He himself was expecting around 600 marks but his extreme hard work and strong determination paid off!

“I studied one subject for six hours daily. I studied till I was thorough in every aspect of all the chapters. I didn’t go for tuitions or refer to guides. I solved question papers of previous years, so it supplemented what I studied,” he said in an interview for Times of India.

Rajan wasn't a book worm. Not just in academics, he also excelled in co-curricular activities such as debating, quizzing, throw-ball and cricket. He never took additional classes or coatings. As soon as we finish the exams, we are curious to tally our answers with our classmates. Rajan never did that. He explained his reason in an interview to TOI;

“All my friends would discuss the question papers. I never did that. I thought I may have made some mistakes, but realized there was no point in talking about it after I had walked out of the examination hall,”

His parents and teachers constantly supported him and never forced him to study and weren’t shy to heap praise on their star student. But maximum credit goes to him for his dedication and will power that let him achieve his goals.

The wonder boy is keen to pursue his career in medicine and is motivated more to do so after his results. Without a shadow of a doubt, Rajan will be an inspiration for many SSLC students in future!
