What better way to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi than to celebrate it at the historical Albert Hall of Jaipur! Making Gandhi Jayanti all the more special for Jaipurites, Rawat Public School organized a cultural event at the state museum of Rajasthan. Though everybody remembers 2nd October as Gandhi Jayanti, they forget the fact that it’s also the birth date of late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. To remind the same, the event today was started with a few easy and quick questions about the same.

The banner of the school and the captivating posters at public place of Pink City was already a centre of attraction for the passersby. Adding icing on the cake came a group of Rawat students to perform on a Rajasthani folk song. The performance enticed many being Rajasthan’s ever favorite Holiyan me Udde re Gulal. The performance that already had its audience glued to their seats ended with Tiranga stoles flowing around the stage … a sight that all of a sudden turned even the passersby patriaotic.

The next performance was an act based on Gandhi ji ke famous teen bandar where students enacted three monkeys or the three basic principles of Gandhiji- “Bura Mat Dekho, Bura Mat Suno, Bura Mat bolo …”

After the inspiring message, the programme was back to entertaining the crowd. We in Jaipur had no idea that this school has such a high-peforming band too. Dressed up in dazzling golden color, the band played the ever soothing music Eshwar Allah Tero Naam, Maa Tujhe Salaam, Vandematram.

On one hand where the performances by the students were engaging the audience, on the other the quiz which was used as filler in between the performances, kept their mind boggling and increasing their general knowledge.

Rawat Public School left no stone unturned in evoking the nationalism out of everyone present there and this was very much visible in the dance performance that paid tribute to Indian Army. Dressed in Indian Army uniform, the students brought some of our childhood memories back as they depicted the tough life of soldiers on the tunes of Sandese se aate hai

Apart from the patriotic performances, the event also discussed trying to spread awareness of  ‘Save Girl Child’ and ended with refreshing twist with foot-tapping performance on Western music western dance.

Though, Team ScooTalks had joined hands with Rawat Public School to cover the event, they came back inveigled with the energy that students showcased and the back support they received from their teachers!
