Those who couldn’t get through the first round of entry-level admissions conducted by BMC have one more chance to try their luck as the BMC is conducting second lottery under the Right to Education Act, 2009 on Wednesday.

While many failed to make it in the first round conducted on April 2 last year, many didn’t take up the seat. As per the available data, 2596 students were granted seats, but only 1585 took them. It took time for the BMC to conduct the second round as until last month it was busy completing the admission process for the first round.

The second round of the lottery was supposed to take place today at noon in Pune and the ones clearing it will be informed via a message on their registered mobile number. Apart from them, the schools will also be informed.
Deputy education officer, BMC, Prakash Charate said, “If the child has already taken admission outside the RTE quota but is allotted a seat in the second lottery, he or she can change school.”
