The most beautiful thing about our nation is without any doubt its diversity. Despite being a country that encompasses people from different religions and cultures, we still stand together, live together, united as ever.

Embracing this idea of Unity in Diversity, United School Organization of India (USO) organized its 57th general conference at S.V. Public School, Jaipur, to bring students and teachers of different cultures together. The 4-day conference that welcomed diverse people from all over India was all about various events, discussions and competitions.

Team ScooTalks, always eager and excited to know more about school-going students and teachers plus their budding ideas were an audience to the entire conference.

There were students everywhere; rather I should say students from different cities, and wearing different attire. Yet they all looked so familiar like we have known them since forever; you know how much we love students! Right?

While talking to this sweet girl, selling handmade chocolates, I couldn’t resist but ask her, “Is it okay if we bargain?” she smiled and reluctantly agreed to it. Though, with her smile and efforts behind it, we decided not to. Yeah, she had made all those chocolates.

The conference was commenced with the lighting of Diyas followed by Gayatri Mantra by students of the school, where close to 350 students had participated.

The motto behind this conference was to give a platform to the students from different parts of the country, giving them an exposure to the outer world, helping them understand cultures from different parts of the country.

Deputy Mayor, Mr. Manoj Bharadwaj’s presence brought an extra shine to the event. He was welcomed merrily with a lot of smiles and applauds.

“It’s good to see students and teachers from so many religions and cultures here together. There is unity in diversity”, Mr. Bharadwaj said with honor.

The discussion panel was divided into four groups ‘Matters related to United Nations’, ‘USO Organizational Matters’, ‘Promoting National Integration’ and ‘Resolution and Future Programmers’ after the conclusion of the inaugural ceremony. The best thing about this discussion was that the Teacher Head of every panel discussion was chosen voluntarily on spot. Any teacher who raised their hands first was finalized as the head of that panel.

The motive of unity in diversity was not only for name sake, but we could really see diversity spread at every corner, no not only corners even in the middle of the conference hall.

It was a great experience for ScooTalks Team; we wish all the students a very best of luck.
